The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program enables graduate students to study abroad and advance their knowledge in their respective fields. To make sure that scholarship recipients are drawn from diverse backgrounds, the scholarship program actively seeks candidates from social groups and communities that lack systematic access to higher education. Support is given through local partner organizations in 22 countries.
A growing number of Ford Foundation scholarship recipients have completed their studies and returned to their home countries, where they are forming alumni associations and networks, building a vibrant community both within and across national borders.
The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (IFP) is a New York City-based International scholarship fund. The program is funded by an independently incorporated organization. A Board of Directors oversees the Fund's financial and program operations for IFP.
Eligible scholarship candidates come from the following countries: Brazil, Chile, China, Egypt, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Mozambique, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Vietnam.
