The MA in Research in Public Administration and Organizational Science (PAOS) focuses on the interaction between social changes and the performance of public organisations in tackling social issues.
This program focuses on the new challenges that public governments at all levels face, from long-term trends such as Europeanization, globalization, changing information and communication technologies, issues related to migration and individualization, and increasing cultural pluralization.
The Master's Program starts with deepening your theoretical knowledge of central themes in Public Administration and Organization Science, such as public policy, public management, bureaucracy and public service, and human resource management. It provides a solid basis in the philosophy of science and research methods. All this prepares the ground for the research project that is the core of the Program's second year. You will choose between a theory-oriented and a policy-oriented type of research project. This Master's Program builds theoretical knowledge and methodological skills, preparing you for a career as university researcher, policy analyst, or consultant.
