Program description

Learn about the disciplines of economic geography, cultural geography, spatial planning, demography or development studies, while adopting a strong research focus.

In addition, the programme is interdisciplinary, because it concentrates on the interactions between population, economy, regional culture and planning. A key feature of a Research Master student is curiosity: wanting to find out what is happening in the world - through research. If you have a strong theoretical or methodological orientation this 2-year programma is suited for you. You will be trained to become a researcher, either at a PhD level at a university, or as a researcher in a national or international research institute. In our programme, you will meet and become part of the academic community, through participation in conferences and a stay in an academic institute abroad. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to participate in scientific debates on specific topics in the spatial sciences, and be involved in research projects of researchers of the faculty. In short: formulate your own study programma; develop your own specialization; specialize in one discipline and gain knowledge of another; study abroad.
