Program description

The master's degree in Medicine is a continuation and extension of a bachelor's degree. After you have gained theoretic knowledge of the human body, the causes of diseases, new treatment methods and contact with patients, the master's degree basically centres on practical traineeships at socio-medical institutions, GP practices and various hospital wards. Only after completion of this master's degree are you authorise to register as a (basic) physician. Yet the authority to do this entirely independently is only awarded to you after you have completed an additional specialist training of three to six years. You then become, for example, a general practitioner, a nursing home physician or a medical specialist. The following university is still working with the undivided training and does therefore not have a bachelor-master structure. University of Amsterdam.
