Program description

The track in Public International Law provides a solid understanding of the principles and structures of international law. It allows students to combine its theoretical and practical aspects.

The track in Public International Law allows students to build expertise in a variety of areas of international law, including international criminal law and international economic law. The programme allows students to combine their study of theoretical aspects of international law with its practical application, for instance by participating in the Amsterdam International Law Clinic or a moot court competition. The wide variety of elective courses allows students to design the programme to fit their individual interests and ambitions in international law. In addition to the core courses, many specialised courses on various aspects of public international law and European law are offered. The academic staff are highly qualified international and European lawyers. Students will become familiar with a wide range of international institutions and will receive guidance in finding internships and in identifying career opportunities once they have successfully completed the Master's programme.
