The protection of electronic data against threats during storage/ transmission is of ever-increasing importance. You’ll learn tools for secure communication and data protection in many situations.
The master program in Information Security Technology gives you a wide range of theories and techniques; like business, legal and ethical aspects. You’ll combine scientific attitude with engineering methods. You’ll learn to work independent, to reflect yourself, analyze critical and to generate new ideas. Besides that, you have to work dedicated and you have to work systematic and methodological in a multidisciplinary environment.
Information Security Technology graduates can work with new security systems of the review for existing systems. Other applications can be to design relevant claims for security of an application and select the right techniques which are sufficient enough. After finishing this master you can work in research centers, scientific organizations, Research and Development in organizations, financial world, government institutions and consultancy.
Information Security Technology Curriculum
The Information Security Technology master program is divided into:
- 6x6 ects in mandatory courses providing basic skills needed for computer security experts, covering cryptography, network, software, hardware and OS security.
- 3x6 ects optional security-specific courses.
- 36 ects worth of remaining courses, consisting of general computer science mandatory courses and optional courses.
- 30 ects for the final project.

Society is currently dominated by the increasing role of computerised systems. However, as a side effect, society becomes increasingly vulnerable to misuse of such systems. This explains the growing interest in and importance of computer security. The Information Security Technology master aims at educating those who will occupy the leading positions in this field.
