Program description

Whether, to what extent and in which forms does a common and unique European culture exist and how is it related to other regional or non-European cultures?

The Master's programme in this form will disappear by September 2012. How is Europe and how are cultural transformations perceived within Europe and from the outside? What is the impact of political and social processes on European culture(s) and culture(s) in Europe as well as vice versa? If these types of question appeal to you, the Erasmus Mundus Master's programme in Euroculture: Europe in the Wider World may interest you. This unique, multilingual, interdisciplinary and interuniversity programme aims to prepare graduates for professions and research areas in which knowledge of present-day Europe and the European Union institutions is of relevance. The focus of the programme is on cultural and social developments, the political process of European integration, values, citizenship and cultural identity. The programme teaches students the methods and skills required to identify the European dimensions of social problems, to collect and process relevant information about European institutions and organizations, and to reflect on the cultural aspects and factors that play a role in the process of European identity formation and European integration.
