The Master's programme in this form will disappear by September 2012. How is Europe and how are cultural transformations perceived within Europe and from the outside? What is the impact of political and social processes on European culture(s) and culture(s) in Europe as well as vice versa? If these types of question appeal to you, the Erasmus Mundus Master's programme in Euroculture: Europe in the Wider World may interest you. This unique, multilingual, interdisciplinary and interuniversity programme aims to prepare graduates for professions and research areas in which knowledge of present-day Europe and the European Union institutions is of relevance. The focus of the programme is on cultural and social developments, the political process of European integration, values, citizenship and cultural identity. The programme teaches students the methods and skills required to identify the European dimensions of social problems, to collect and process relevant information about European institutions and organizations, and to reflect on the cultural aspects and factors that play a role in the process of European identity formation and European integration.
Previous educationBA degree in Arts/Humanities (history, theology, linguistics, political sciences, law, anthropology, sociology, European, cultural, media studies).
Knowledge minimumStudents attend the 2nd semester of the programme at one of the partner universities, they can choose the location of the 3rd semester.
Personal motivationThe programme has a limited number of places (20). Students will be selected on the basis of an assessment of their educational background, CV, experiences, skills and motivation.
