Program description

The MA in Archaeology: Landscape and Heritage is not fixed to geographical or chronological boundaries, but deals thematically with archaeological landscapes and heritage in many different societies.

In both specialisations students will acquire conceptual knowledge of landscapes and archaeological remains in their modern setting, with a focus on heritage management and policy. ACASA: Archaeology in Amsterdam As of September 2012, the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and VU University Amsterdam (VU) will offer a joint Master's in Archaeology via the Amsterdam Centre for Ancient Studies and Archaeology (ACASA). This pooling of resources means you will have the choice between various course packages, as well as the opportunity to specifically prepare yourself for a professional career, be it in commercial archaeology, policy archaeology or academic research. You will attend lectures at both the UvA and the VU.
