Program description

The bachelor's degree in Political Science centres on (inter-) national social phenomena that are connected with the exercise of power by people over other people. There are different approaches, like the historical-philosophical analysis of political ideas, the comparative study of political institutions, the international relations, the quantitative examination of the expression of political behaviour and the systematic study of decision-making processes. Part of the key courses of political science are the study of democratic, authoritarian and totalitarian political systems. In this context you analyse the content and the functioning of political institutions, like election systems, governments, parliaments, bureaucracies and armies. You examine the political activity of, for example, political leaders, parties and pressure groups. You also work on communication media and the analysis of political views, as you encounter these in results of elections and in interviews and programme analyses. After this training you can enter the labour market or you can opt for a master's degree.
