Media and Entertainment Management Program Content
The broad, practice based bachelor program International Media and Entertainment Management teaches you everything about commercial and organizational aspects in the world of mass media and entertainment productions. You will learn about market research, budget planning and legal agreements. How do you lead a creative team? What are the actual trends in media and entertainment? What measures are to be taken to keep up with planning and deadlines in huge productions? Once you are graduated in Media and Entertainment Management, you can deal with these questions and you will be able to find a job in the international film, television, event, music of cross media sector as a (junior) manager. If you want a music specialization, you can study International Music Management in Haarlem.
With this course you start directly with practice based assignments related to media and entertainment. The practice of the television, event, music and crossmedia industry is stressed by doing projects, visiting companies and attending guest lectures. You will take a major in Communication, Creative Business and Media in the first and second year. Besides that, you will take courses from Media and Entertainment Management and you will compile your own study programme by selecting differentiation minors. In the first semester of the third year you will do an internship at a company in the media or entertainment industry. You will graduate in the second half of the fourth year.
In the Media and Entertainment Management course you can specialize yourself through your choice in differentiation minors. Examples of specializations are television, events, music, cross media, films or games. If you want to specialize in music, choose IMM in Haarlem.
In the third year, you will work as an intern in a business environment of your choice for about six months, where you can put into practice what you have learnt so far. Do you choose a bigger or a smaller company? Do you want to go abroad? That's possible too!
