Student recruitment in India

India has been one of the biggest success stories in study abroad mobility over the past decade. Second to China only, India sends more than 516,000 students abroad each year. In terms of year on year growth it outpaces China.  A surging economy and domestic competition drives study abroad numbers, despite the pandemic. We have seen a 25% increase since 2018. Master mobility is growing fast. Also, post-study work is an attractive factor. Indian students tend to prolong their stay in order to work in a destination country.

There is a growing acceptance among Indian students for blended delivery models – that is, for programs that begin online and then transition to face-to-face study.
