The University of Twente sets itself apart from other technical universities by the focus on entrepreneurship it aims to instil in its students and researchers. With 12 English taught programs at bachelor level and over 50 master programs, international students have a wealth of choice. Programs include Engineering and Business programs. In the International Earth Observation Center ITC, Twente has a research institute that performs ground breaking research in the field of Geo Information Sciences.

In the worldwide rankings, Twente has claimed its spot among the top 200. This year it is doing particularly well in the Times Higher Education Ranking. In Engineering and IT, Twente is ranked 116 in the World according to the QS ranking.
The University of twente is currently the best performing Dutch University in the Leiden Ranking. It has claimed 64th spot in the world-wide citation impact ranking. Twente University is keeping pace with renowned institutions like University College London, the University of Minnesota and Imperial College London.
