The Master in International Communication Management (MICM) is designed to develop communication managers who can research, develop, implement and manage complex communication strategies on a global scale. The programme explores international developments, cultural differences, economics and ethics – as well as personal skills, like leadership, public speaking and conflict management.
In the Master of International Communication Management, you learn more than just theory. From the very first day, you will put the knowledge that you have acquired into practice. The program explores international trends, cultural differences, ethics and personal skills such as leadership, project management and conflict management. After your course, you will be able to investigate, develop, implement and manage complex communication issues at an international level. The training is available for full-time or part-time study.
The Master of International Communication Management focuses on Corporate Communication, Internal Communication and Marketing Communication. The curriculum also includes modules like Communication Research, Culture & Communication and Communication Trends. In addition, you will be taught specific skills, consisting of several training modules on subjects including time management, writing and the media.
The forms of teaching are varied and diverse: trainings, workshops, case studies and lectures form part of the program. You will finish a module with a (reflection) report or an assignment. For several modules, including the thesis project, you will find yourself a suitable client organization and act as a communication consultant for that client.
You will explore how organizations can organize their communication optimally in an international context. In addition, you will be continually looking out for the latest trends and developments in this specialist field. At the end of the program, you will have extensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Thus you can ensure that the message gets across optimally to internal and external stakeholders from various cultures, using traditional and digital communication tools.
You have already been working for a minimum of two years in communication and you are familiar with the basic principles of this specialist field. You are looking to advance in your career: you want to enhance your skills, develop and grow into a more senior function. You are interested in the complex relationship between the identity and the image of organisations, the (international) environment in which these organisations operate and the impact on internal and external communication.
