Program description
The Graphic Design Master is an in-depth 2-year Graphic Design course for graphic designers and advanced learners. It takes an academic approach to Graphic Design, objectifying the considerations of the design process and making all instances thereof subject of argumentation. This will result into better reasoning and subsequently higher standards of the work.
The academic approach is embedded in hands-on exercises and assignments. Visual Essay, Research Based Design and Visual Argumentation are key conceptions of the course. Whereas Research at the Bachelor remains Practical & Practice-Based, at the Master a subsequent Theoretical level is added.
The course will take Graphic Design to a higher level through methodology of research-founded argumentation. Graduates will be able to substantiate design decisions, with understanding as to why and argumentation as to how. The Graphic Design Master at AKV|St. Joost in Breda will develop talents, methods and techniques that enable you to practise Graphic Design in virtually any field and to perform a wide variety of assignments and commissions.
