Program description
The Research Master's is a two-year programme focused on top quality interdisciplinary research and the acquisition of high-level research skills.
The programme centres on the internationally renowned Archaeology research areas that are strongly represented in Leiden, in particular Human Origins, Early Agrarian Societies, Town and Country and Religion and Society. Within these specialisations, the courses aim to intensify and broaden the students' knowledge base and to develop research and publication skills. You will be encouraged to work with international sister institutes, e.g. to visit conferences, contribute to workshops and take courses outside the department.
Objectives
The faculty wishes to structurally enlarge the knowledge of the past, participate in international debate concerning the main fields of interest, and the methodological and theoretical backbone of the discipline. To participate in the national and international safeguarding of cultural heritage by means of active research.
