Program description
The bachelor's degree in Sociology centres on the research of societies and the behaviour of people therein. Sociology considers society as a concerted action of government bodies, the market, companies and institutions (organisations) and the so called primary order: the small-scale cohabitations like households and neighbourhoods. In practice the concerted action between these entities does not always seem to progress properly. You examine the precise nature, scope and backgrounds of social issues and you try to analyse and describe the same. Examples of research themes are: the extent to which societies show cohesion or are actually violent, the inequalities that manifest themselves in a society and the rate at which rationalisation processes like economic growth, scientific progress and secularisation occur. After this training you can enter the labour market or you can opt for a master's degree.
