Program description

The approach based on four disciplines: economics, political science, law and sociology and the strong emphasis on social science methods and techniques is characteristic of the Public Administration program. Twnte’s Public Administration program is the oldest in the Netherlands. Other universities followed the example of Twente, but many opted for a narrower base. Each social problem is multifaceted and an effective approach is needed to view things from different angles. Despite these different approaches is the goal the same. Public Administration in a sense is thus' solving social problems.

In order to solve social problems, we will teach you to answer the following four key questions. First the problem: What are the important social issues or problems? Then follows a policy: By what means can we best tackle questions or problems? Next, we examine management: How do we that good policy? Finally, we learn to give your attention to the layout of the board: How to set up administrative processes?
