Program description

The bachelor's degree in Modern Greek Language and Culture centres on the modern Greek language and culture (19th-21st century). You gain insight into the developments as from the Byzantine and Osman (Turkish) period and into the relations between the Greek world and Western Europe, South-eastern Europe and the Near East. You learn to speak and write modern Greek and attention is paid to the stages this language went through. You also study the historical and modern linguistics and literature and the (cultural) history. After this training you can enter the labour market or you can opt for a master's degree.
