Program description

The bachelor's degree in Medicine centres on people in all phases of life and ranges from clinical work in one of the specialist areas to pure scientific research. You gain insight into the construction and the functioning of the human body. Prevention issues and social causes of diseases and discomforts are also discussed. In this context you learn to cooperate with employees with a different background of health care, like nurses, psychologists, medical biologists, social workers, pharmacists, epidemiologists, physiotherapists, midwives, hygienists and dentists. As man plays a key role in medicine attention is also paid to the development of your communication skills. You also learn to critically follow the scientific developments in medicine. You only become a (basic) physician after completion of the clinical placements and after obtaining the MD degree. The following university is still working with the undivided training and does therefore not have a bachelor-master structure. University of Amsterdam.
