Program description
The Information Technology program focuses on the development of mathematically related software for industries, software development, database management, network management and the general structure and operation of computer hardware.
There is more and more demand for real-time information in today's business world. Information, and the communication of it, is the life-blood of organizations. This makes the role of the information technology engineer crucial too. Nearly all organizations make use of computerized technology, from global networks and databases to a PC on a desk. Therefore, Information Technology professionals are essential to keeping the modern wheels of business turning.
The INHolland University of Applied Sciences bachelor's degree program in Information Technology will teach you how to become an Information Technology Engineer. Not only that, it is also taught entirely in English - the business language of the world.
Bachelor Information Technology Program Content
Study Program
The study program Information Technology is organized along the guidelines of an engineering degree. It is built around a number of subject areas. The subject areas are Mathematics and Statistics, Software Development, Networking, Database Management Systems, Internet Programming, Information Science, Computer Hardware, Economics and Management and Communication Skills. The program also offers the Cisco CCNA and Cisco CCNP programs.
You will learn how to develop the knowledge, skills and know-how that you need for a career in Information Technology. The program focuses on software, hardware and mathematical modeling, as well as mathematical subjects related to engineering programs. Vital communication skills and the knowledge of how to organize and run a business are also part of the program.
Courses are organized in different ways, depending on the subject. Most courses consist partly of lectures and partly of practical work (lab). This practical work can be individual or group work. There are courses which focus on project work, either a number of small projects or one large project and some courses stress individual study.
Work Placement
You will learn to analyze, solve (business) problems and apply your knowledge and skills in the real world environment of a company during your internship in the third year. In semester eight you will carry out your final project and complete your Bachelor's thesis, again as an internee in a company and earn an allowance.
As a graduate, you will receive the title Bachelor of Engineering. This internationally recognized degree will enable you to apply for master's programs both in the Netherlands and abroad.
