Program description
The bachelor's degree in English language and Culture centres on the language, literature and culture of English speaking territories, in particular the United Kingdom and the United States. You study, among other things, the political and socio-economic development of the English speaking territories, the present-day use of language, theoretic linguistics (word sequence, pronunciation, phonology), the development of the English literature (from the Beowulf and Shakespeare to Virginia Woolf and Philip Roth) and the English language from the eighth century up to today. You also learn to speak and write English fluently. After this training you can enter the labour market or you can opt for a master's degree.
