Program description

Advanced Technology is a unique programme and is only offered at the University of Twente. It is a distinctive programme because you don't limit yourself to one specific technology or discipline.

Following in the footsteps of your famous predecessor, da Vinci, you will focus your research on several areas. Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, applied physics, business administration, marketing, your research will be application-driven.

You will develop technologies which meet the demands of society and our (knowledge-driven) economy, and which can be of practical use in our vastly-changing world. It is AT-students who will play an important role in our continued existence in the near future. In the same way that AT-students focus on the world around them, the AT programme focuses on all aspects of society that require technological innovation. This means you may work on projects at the worldfamous MESA+ Nanotechnology Research Institute, contribute to new technologies such as 'Lab-on-a-Chip'- developed by the University of Twente's spin-off company, Lionix - or play a part in other socially-oriented projects and research.
