Jakarta Education Fair Description
The European Higher Education Fair in Jakarta was first launched in 2008, as part of the Asia-Link Programe, a consortium consisting of CampusFrance, DAAD, Nuffic Neso and British Council. This event is a part of a series of seven events in Asia during 2006-2008, which was funded by the European Commission. During the event, the consortium found very positive feedbacks from the exhibitors and visitors. The European Higher Education Fair in Jakarta succeeded in attracting more than 15,000 visitors (three times the expected number) and is the highest number from the series of EHEF from 2006-2008 in sole exhibitions.
Following the previous success, the European Higher Education Fair in Jakarta was continued in Indonesia in 2010 and 2011 with support from Delegation of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. With the limited budget and support, EHEF 2010 and 2011 could manage the limitation and attracted more than 12,000 visitors who were interested in exploring study opportunities in Europe.
The positive results of the past The European Higher Education Fair in Jakarta strengthened the consortium’s belief that there is a growing interest among the Indonesian students population to study in Europe as an alternative destination to pursue excellent quality of higher education. The consortium would also maintain the continuity in Promoting European Higher Education Institutions. Therefore, the Committee of EHEF Indonesia together with the Delegation of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam are preparing EHEF Indonesia 2012, as a platform to promote high-quality education in Europe as an excellent alternative for Indonesian students as their education destination.
